If you haven't voiced your opinion on Bill 6 or the new Carbon Tax soon to be introduced in the province you now have your chance to do both.

Residents can sign a plebiscite in Okotoks showing their displeasure on the Notely government's pieces of legislation.

Bev Prescott who is running the petition says those that are against one or both of the issues should sign.

"People are very passionate #1 about Bill 6 because there was never any consolation that went on, it was just something that the NDP passed and its the way it is and that's not how you do business," she says. "We feel she (Premier Rachel Notely) should change and she needs to consult with the farmers."

Prescott says plenty of community members have signed the petition already and are nearing their signature goal.

"George Clark who started all of this, with 'Albertans First' he's our head guy and he'd like 200,000 signatures and we are very close to that and we are going to head up to Edmonton on February 9 and present our signatures."

Prescott says she's hoping that both Bill 6 and the Carbon Tax can have more consultation.

"Carbon Tax is just Notely's name for it, its really a GST in disguise," she says. "The carbon tax is not to offset any of her emissions goals or anything like that, its going into general funds so it was another one of her lies."

You can sign the petition everyday at Gus's Day Diggs, located at Unit 4- 107 Stockton Point in Okotoks.
