Goodger-Pink Family Theatre will be whisking audiences away to Neverland with their upcoming Christmas production.

Samantha Duff, Goodger-Pink Theatre artistic producer and founder, says Peter Pan And The Secret Key is a pantomime production with a cast of four.

She says the world premiere production, by Calgary playwright Dan Gibbins, will offer audiences a glimpse of some of their favourite Peter Pan characters with some creative new twists.

"It's sort of a remixed version of Peter Pan," Duff explains. "So, you'll see the well-known characters; Hook, Wendy, Peter, Smee, but it's a brand-new adventure that they're on."

Duff says rehearsals for the play started about a month ago.

"We had a lot of fun workshopping it beforehand with the playwright, getting a couple of different drafts in until it was perfect," she says. "And we've been rehearsing it ever since."

She points out that, although there is a cast of only four performers in this production, they all play some 'larger-than-life' characters. She says the play features some exciting sword fight scenes, as well as some fun sound design.

"There is a lot of movement and choreography," she says. "We have a lot of sword fighting in it. We have an awesome fight choreographer from Calgary who has choreographed a bunch of really cool fights for us."

Goodger-Pink's production of Peter Pan And The Secret Key runs from November 30 to December 10. For more information, click here.
