It's the most wonderful time of year according to golf enthusiasts.

All golf courses in the Foothills should be open by the end of April.

Christian Meyer, the General Manager at Crystal Ridge Golf Course, says with the nice weather in the Foothills his club was able to open a few weeks ahead of schedule.

"We have all nine greens fully opened, we wintered very, very well," says Meyer. "So it's a $20 green fee and we have power carts available, so long as the sun is out there's no reason to not come and golf."

Last year's above average temperatures had members of the Crystal Ridge Golf Club teeing off on March 20th, this time they're only 11 days behind.

Meyer says after the Easter weekend the golf season will start in full swing with a new full menu.

"We'll be doing a large Sunday brunch here on Easter Sunday, after that we're going to be fully opened into the golf season. Right now we just have some early open menus at our restaurant but we do have our mini golf and nine greens ready to go."

Meyer even hinted that some things around the course may have changed slightly to be a little more attractive to the naked eye.

"We're just very excited with how we came through the winter, I think the course looks beautiful and we've done a couple things around the course to give it a little bit of a face lift this year."

Rivers Edge Golf Course is opening up Friday as well as long as the temperatures stay high, so will the competition as the rest of the golf clubs in Okotoks open in the coming weeks.

D'Arcy Ranch and Turner Valley Golf Courses will be open on April 14th, while Heritage Pointe Golf Club follows up on the 22nd.
