Frequent users of the Pason Centennial Arena will notice more construction over the coming months as progress really kicks off on the arena twinning project.

Recreation and Facilities Manager with the Town Doug Robson says that the increase in production shouldn't affect parking or traffic much more than it already has.

"They won't take any more space then what they've already taken in the immediate area that they've been working in, they'll be staying within that fenced in area." Robson says "Once they begin to erect walls while the walls are going up they'll have to move it out to the radius and there will be some extra space used there for safety."

Now that preliminary work has been completed, Robson says the project is moving along just as planned.

"We're on track here, we have all of the deep services done, the pilings are all done, forms are being poured as we speak. Hopefully we'll see some walls up and start to see it get closed in over the next couple of months."

Of course the Town and Scott Builders would like to remind residents to stay away and heed the safety signage as construction sites can be dangerous.

"Scott Builders will put the appropriate signage around, the metal will go out during the day and be braced securely at night." Robson adds "The builders also won't be putting anything up during the night."

If the project continues on as planned, then the arena twinning should be completed early 2018.
