Communications for the Town of Okotoks has confirmed that residents who were evacuated, now have the go ahead to return home.

It is recommended that those residents open all windows in their home to air out the natural gas.

Atco is remaining on scene to monitor the situation, while emergency services are working to get Cimarron BLVD. open again.

Power was cut to the Cimarron area this afternoon, and 25 people evacuated after a construction ruptured a gas line in Cimarron.

At 1:21 PM, Fire, EMS RCMP and Okotoks Municipal Enforcement responded to the scene.

First Responders have closed a section of Cimarron Blvd due to the leak, and re-routing traffic.

ATCO Gas is also on scene working on repairing the line, while Fortis has been called to cut power to the area and power to the area will be temporarily shut off until Atco Gas can remedy the situation.
