The Crystal Ridge Golf Club was filled with smiling faces and full stomachs Wednesday for the Okotoks Rotary Club's Fourth Annual Mac N' Cheese Luncheon.

All proceeds from the event went to supporting the Okotoks Food Bank.

Sandi Kennedy, Rotarian and luncheon chairperson, says the fundraiser provides the food bank with a lot of protein.

"We like to see that the food bank has some meat on their shelves so frozen packages of meat will now be delivered to the food bank to their freezers a couple of times this year so they have meat for everyone."

She adds this year's luncheon was the best to date thanks to the work of fellow Rotarians and the support from the community.

Kennedy says the group is always happy to partner with the food bank.

"We like to support the food bank, it's a good initiative in our community and Rotary's motto is 'service above self' and certainly it fits the bill so we like to support them."

Sponsors for the luncheon and meat purchased for the Okotoks Food Bank are Bow Mark Paving, Aaron Drilling, Servus Credit Union, McDonald's, Okotoks Sobeys, Ray Watrin, Warner Business Park, and Great Big Rock Holdings.
