The Foothills School Division is grateful for their crisis response team and the help they have given to the school community this fall after the unexpected deaths of two young staff members.

Superintendent John Bailey says the school board was sending out a message of thanks for their help as the crisis team has really stepped up and gone above and beyond.

The team was formed to help out in times of crisis.

"As part of our strategy to support students and families and staff when there is a crisis we have our counselling staff across the division organized into crisis response teams," said Bailey.

He adds it is all part of being a great team.

"That is what being part of a team is. When someone else needs help there is someone to step in and help. So just an appreciation for the work those people do. It is very emotional work, very draining."

"They have been real troopers, and done that work, and it is greatly appreciated. I know it has been hard on them as well."

Bailey adds the deaths of two young members of the FSD staff this fall was hard on everyone involved.
