A distillery in Turner Valley is looking for local artists to help with custom art development for their projects.

The Eau Claire Distillery has put out a call for artist portfolios, specifically seeking artists that have a connection with Alberta.

David Farran, owner of Eau Claire Distillery says the chosen artist will have an opportunity to create labels for future products.

"We're embarking on a few new products so we wanted to freshen up some of our looks, and our artwork on our labels," he says. "We wanted to do it in a true Alberta way using local artists, so we've asked people to submit not labels, but their portfolio so we can see their style, and what it looks like."

Farran shares the distillery will only be accepting applications from artists who reside in the province.

"I think it's really important, we're really about local, and we're proud of being local so we think it's only right that our labels would reflect that as well."

He explains the company is not seeking a particular experience level, and is open to all mediums.

"We're open to everything we don't want to pigeonhole anything at all, because we know there's some great styles and innovative things we may not have thought of so we welcome it all."

The distillery has already received 14 submissions for the project, Farran says he's excited to see some of the amazing work produced right here in Alberta.

Submissions must be received by August 4.
