Fortis Alberta staff were assisting at the Habitat for Humanity build on Willow Crescent yesterday after contributing a sizeable donation to the cause.

Kevin Haslbeck, Communications Advisor for Fortis, says this contribution will help make improvements to the trailer used for Habitat's builds.

"The money is going towards refurbishing their safety tool and equipment trailers that will be travelling throughout Southern Alberta," he said.

Haslbeck says this initiative is in line with the core values of the company.

"We've been a partner of Habitat for Humanity for a few years now. It's a reflection of our core values and where we put our investment dollars. We like to keep it in our local service territory and help the health and wellness of our customers, so this is a great way to do that all in one," he said.

Fortis donated $15,000 for trailer upgrades. They had 12 employees on site helping with the build for the entire day yesterday, including trades workers, and new President and CEO, Mike Mosher, who was on day four with the company, and already getting his hands dirty.
