On the heels of the Calgary Comic Expo, the Foothills is getting their own Comic-Con.

The "First Annual Foothills Comic Con" is coming to the region Saturday, October 14.

Organizer Travis Sandor says it'll be a "home grown" convention.

"We're going to host it right here in the Foothills, where families can come and check out vendors from around Southern Alberta. Cosplay events and different media guests."

Sandor says it's be just a fun, with some of the same types of sights and sounds as the recently wrapped up Calgary Expo, just not as big.

"It's be a smaller scale Con experience than Calgary, but it's only our first year. So we're going to grab that feel and just grow from there."

Sandor says they're still working on the details, like venues, vendors and media guests.

All the money raised goes to help fund the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society.
