A very busy day at the Bar U Ranch National Historic Site near Longview Sunday as thousands came down to check out the sights and sounds and treat Dad to a day out for Father's Day.

A lot of new Canadians were taking advantage of the Bar U and it's history over the weekend and Mike McLean, the Product Development Officer, Special Projects with the Ranch says that's always great to see.

"Well what a wonderful way to be able to share all of our treasures from the past is to invite all of our new Canadians to come out and find out a little bit about our history. And they just love to find out about our history. The Bar U is a unique place too, because it's the only place in Canada that commemorates ranching."

The Millarville Musical Ride, the pack horse races, some live music from High River's Spitzee Post, Cowboy Poetry and of course the stew cook off were highlights of the day.
