Okotoks will be home to mythical creatures and fantasy this fall.

The Wizarding World of Okotoks was a huge success last year, and this year the Okotoks Arts Council has decided to change the event into Enchanted Okotoks to help expand its reach.

The event will now include all magical, fantasy, and children's book creatures.

Katie Fournell, Enchanted Okotoks organizer, says the change will see more people to get involved.

"We felt like Harry Potter was too specific. We really wanted to be more inclusive with our event so we decided why don't we have something that's cool for everybody and we're really excited to do that because it allows for more creativity from each of the businesses and allows everybody to get excited about creating that atmosphere of magic in Okotoks."

She adds she's hoping to have a medieval section with jousting and sword fighting and that she'd like to see a dentist get involved to act as a tooth fairy.

The OAC has decided Halloween weekend is the best time for the event again this year.

"We're basically putting a big costume on the town so we figure Halloween is probably the most appropriate time to get everybody dressed up," Fournell explains. "It also is really great for people wanting to participate, it's really easy to find decorations and such at that particular time so we're hoping to make it easier on the businesses wanting to participate so they're able to do much more."

Enchanted Okotoks will take place Oct. 27.
