The Salvation Army kicked off their annual Christmas Kettle Campaign around the Foothills Wednesday.

Lieutenant Kelly Fifield says this is really their only, and biggest fundraiser of the year and they hope people can be as generous as possible.

"So we really count on the donations that come it. The donations that come in actually stay here in the Foothills and they allow us to run everything the Salvation Army does throughout the year."

Fifield says this year's fundraising goal is $92,000.

She says it's an aggressive goal, but one that's much needed as they've already seen increased demand for their services thanks to low oil prices.

She says Foothills residents have always dug deep and helped them meet their goals.
