The Provincial Education ministry has released its diploma exam results.

In the Foothills School Division in English Language Arts 30-1, 29.6 per cent of students achieved a Standard of Excellence, slightly below the provincial average of 32.9.

In English Language Arts 30-2, 15.8 per cent of students achieved a Standard of Excellence, slightly above the provincial average of 14.5.

In Math 30-1, 36.9 per cent hit the Standard of Excellence well below the provincial average at 51.7 per cent while in Math 30-2, 24.9 hit the Standard of Excellence, slightly below the provincial number.

In Social Studies 30-1, 36.4 per cent hit the Standard of Excellence, slightly below the provincial number of 41.3, while in Social Studies 30-2, 18.9 per cent hit the Standard of Excellence, right on the provincial mark.

In Science 30, 18.3 per cent made it to the Standard of Excellence, almost 20 points below the provincial average.

In Biology 30, 44 per cent of Foothills Grade 12's hit the Standard of Excellence, about four per cent below the province.

In Chemistry 30, 41.5 per cent hit the mark, about 10 per cent below the provincial average.

And in Physics 30, 42 per cent of Foothills students hit the Standard of Excellence, down 13.9 per cent from the provincial mark.

In all of those subjects students hitting the Acceptable Standard were in the high 90 per cent range.
