Diamond Elite Cheerleading is doing their part in support of the Okotoks community after winning 1500 dollars for their fundraising efforts through Devry Greenhouse.

Michelle Barrat, President of the Diamond Elite Parent Association, says the squad will be donating park benches and a lending library in addition to the plants.

" We won 1500 dollars worth of garden material that we've donated to the Okotoks Food Bank. They will also be receiving 2 garden benches and a lending library," she said.

The squad appeared at the Food Bank's Community Garden on May 23rd to present the donated flowers and get them ready for planting.

This is Diamond Elite's first time winning the prize, after fundraising with the greenhouse for the past five years.

"This is the first time we've ever won this prize, we've done the fundraiser through Devry for the last five years with our cheerleaders," said Barratt.

The Diamond Elite Squad ranges in ages from four to fifteen years, and participates in judged competitions featuring stunts, tumbling and dance components.
