Denny's is once again supporting the Okotoks Food Bank.

Yesterday, Oct. 4 the restaurant sold 99 cent Grand Slams for it's sixth anniversary throughout the day, with all proceeds going back to the Food Bank

Anurag Sharma, General Manager says it was one of the many events Denny's has partnered with the Food Bank on this year.

"We partnered during the Okotoks Parade, Taste of Okotoks, and there was the full tummy campaign, and a two dollar coupon book we sold, all proceeds were sent to the Food Bank. We've raised close to $1,300 from those events."

Sharma shares last year Denny's partnered with Okotoks Fire Services for the 99 cent Grand Slam event, but this year the restaurant wanted to focus on feeding the hungry in Okotoks.

"I was sitting with Community Events Coordinator Mark Doherty in January, and we were going back and forth talking about our marketing calendar. He suggested that this year the best thing is to go to the Food Bank, because nobody has any idea how much people are in need of this."

The event raised $498, and sold 262 Grand Slams.
