With Canada Road Safety Week falling over the May Long weekend, Alberta RCMP focused their enforcement operations on speeding, distracted and impaired driving.

According to RCMP, say a total of three fatal collisions and 19 non-fatal collisions happened in Alberta between May 15-18.

The total of fatalities was the same as last year, however, this year's non-fatal crash total was down from May Long 2019 which saw 27.

Over 1,700 speeding tickets were issued in Alberta over the long weekend this year which is down from last year's total of 2,075.

RCMP say 50 distracted driving tickets were issued in the province during May Long this year.
