All summer long, Thursday nights have been dedicated to dads.

The Foothills Children's Wellness Network and Foothills Family and Community Support Services, wanted to focus on dads this year, which resulted in the creation of Dad's Central.

Every Thursday night, dads and their kids are invited to come down to the Cresent Point Regional Field House for a night of games, food, and quality time.

Taylor Norum, volunteer with Dad's Central, says it's all to help kids spend time with their male role models.
"We want to enhance male role models in kids lives. It can be a dad, stepdad, uncle, grandpa, or older brother, whoever", he says.

Taylor says this event is important because it is proven that kids who have a close relationship with a male role model, are better off when it comes to development, attachment, and academics.

This event will continue on through the fall, complete with more themed events for holidays like Christmas and Halloween.

The best place to go for information on times and upcoming events is the Dad's Central Facebook page.
