For the 11th year in a row local talent will be putting on a show in support of the Okotoks Food Bank.

Guests will enjoy 12 performances including music from the Travelling Mabels, Michela Sheedy, Tanya Ryan, and Sam Smith for the Okotoks Food Bank Christmas Concert.

John Fraser, chair of the organizing committee, says the concert has expanded from it's humble beginning at the Rotary Performing Arts Centre into a new venue.

"When we started in the RPAC I think it held just a little over 100 people but each year it's grown. We've moved onto larger facilities and now find ourselves in the Evangelical Free Church which is an absolutely wonderful facility, it has 425 padded seats."

He says guests can also expect a surprise performance from a multi Juno Award winning, platinum selling country artist who will be announced at the concert.

Fraser's expecting this year's concert to surpass the total raised at last year's event.

"Last year we raised over $25,000, I think we'll probably exceed that this year from what I've seen so far... In addition to the ticket prices that are incredibly reasonable, guests are asked to bring one non perishable food bank item."

Tickets for adults are $20 and children 12 and under are $10.

They can be purchased in Okotoks at Sobeys, Safeway, Royal LePage Solutions, and online by clicking here.

The concert takes place Dec. 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
