Christ the Redeemer School Division is wrapping up their 2016-2017 school year.

The division has multiple accomplishments from the year including the opening of their new location for the Centre for Learning @ Home.

Superintendent Scott Morrison says that in the past couple weeks they have received their ratings for the Alberta Accountability Pillar Rankings, and are proud of the results.

"On 13/15 measures we rated superbly and are proud of the level of satisfaction from our students, parents and staff."

Morrison adds that ten of those ratings were the highest you can get in the "very good" range while the other three were in the "good range".

How even with the official school year ending, that doesn't mean the School division shuts down.

The Centre for Learning @ Home will be holding summer school classes, a long with other Christ the Redeemer facilities.

"We have a large traditional summer school program at Holy Trinity, it is one of the older ones in the area that runs ten - fifteen classes a year," Morrison says.

Morrison adds that the school division never truly closes its doors.

Christ the Redeemer is also looking forward to the opening of St. Francis of Assisi Academy come September.

The opening of the school will give other schools like Good Sheppard a bit of breathing room for the upcoming school year, and also allow the kindergarten students to return to the Good Shepard campus.

The Kindergarten students have been housed at Holy Trinity Academy and Morrison says that bringing them back to Good Sheppard is extremely exciting!

Morrison also mentioned what the school division hopes to focus on in the 2016-2017 school season.

"We have been focusing on raising the literacy levels of our students over the past 5 years, and are going to continue to work on that as well as focus on making our students more numeracy literate."

Morrison hopes that all families enjoy their summer.
