The Christ The Redeemer School Division has a lot to be proud about with their grade six, nine and 12 students after the results from their Provincial Achievement Tests and Diploma Exams from the past school year.

The division has outperformed both tests and are in the top five percent of the province.

CTR Superintendent Scott Morrison says the results can't say enough about the effort of both students and educators.

"There's provincial achievement tests that our grade 6 and 9 classes write and we were in the top five percent based on our excellence rates," he says. "Then for grade 12 diploma exams we were in the top five percent both on our pass rates and our excellence rates."

Diploma exams are the first big test for students who will make the transition from High School to Post Secondary and Morrison says these results show they're ready to tackle the biggest challenges in college or university.

"Two highlights for us were both on the English 30-1 and the Social 30-1, both of them were bordering on that 97 percent in terms of pass rate."

Morrison says it wasn't just the results of those two tests that stood out at the senior high school level.

"We beat the provincial pass rates on all eleven of the eleven exams and nine out of the eleven exams we beat the excellence rate on. I think it just says that our teachers are focused on really high standards and insuring students work to the best of their ability and our students are committed and motivated."

Tests include Math, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and French classes at both the 30-1 & 30-2 levels.
