Over the next two weekends Chinook Honey Company will be buzzing with holiday cheer.

The 12th annual Christmas at the Hive kicks off Saturday, which is a festival fundraiser for the Foothills Country Hospice.

Cherie Andrews, Co-Owner of Chinook Honey Company, says it's great to help the hospice out, and provide outdoor family activities during the winter.

She shares although the weekend weather forecast doesn't feel much like winter, that's not stopping any snow involved events.

"Certainly beats the minus 24 we've had in the past, this weekend I think temperatures are going to be just above zero. Although we have no snow on the ground, we certainly will have snow for making snow candles, those are a freestyle candle that we make in a pile of snow."

Visitors to Chinook Honey Company can participate in a number of activities for a toonie each, with all proceeds going directly to the hospice.

Andrews says there will be countless events to take part in.

"We also have our honey taffy, we use the ice outside and honey, that's ooey gooey fun, very yummy. We have two just wonderful fire pits going to keep people warm, and also they can roast marshmallows for s'mores. The Chinook Honey donkeys will be making an appearance, and they're really super friendly, and very photogenic I might add as well."

A long with the holiday themed events, attendees will also have a chance to see what bees do throughout the winter.

"The bees are here, the observation hives, and we'll have those hives available and we'll have someone there to be able to educate anybody who's curious about the bees and what they're doing this time of year. There will also be free mead tours twice a day as well."

Christmas at the Hive will be held on Dec. 2, and Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
