Okotoks RCMP have charged two males in connection with an incident at a rural property near Okotoks on the weekend.

During the morning of Saturday, February 24th, Okotoks RCMP responded to a complaint of shots fired near a rural residence.

RCMP say that Ryan Watson, who had been taken to hospital, was discharged from medical care Sunday and was taken into police custody.

According to RCMP, Watson has been charged with trespassing by night, mischief to property, theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine and failure to comply with probation (x2). Watson appeared in court in Calgary today.

Police say that Edouard Maurice, the homeowner, is facing three charges of aggravated assault, pointing a firearm and careless use of a firearm.

Maurice was released from custody following a judicial interim release hearing and is scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court March 9.

RCMP are continuing their attempts to locate a second suspect from the original incident and they're asking anyone with information to call the Okotoks RCMP at (403) 995-6400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
