Residents are invited to celebrate a milestone at the Okotoks Museum and Archives this weekend.

Okotokians will have an opportunity to tour the museum and look at exhibits and displays. Everyone will also be treated to cake and ice cream.

Kathy Coutts, museum specialist, says Saturday is a great opportunity for people to come down and see how the museum has evolved.

"It has certainly changed both in the physical building as well as the exhibits that are within the building, so it's an opportunity to come down and see it if you haven't seen it in a while," she says.

Coutts says a slide show will highlight the changes the museum has gone through.

"Some people may not know that the house is not at its original location. It was moved from the corner of Elizabeth Street and Northridge Drive to its current location and it's undergone quite a few structural changes and lots of changes in the exhibits over the years."

Celebrations get underway on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the museum.
