The first ever worldwide cultural event on Twitter is in full swing, its called Museum Week.

The Town of Okotoks Twitter page has been posting many fun facts and museum secrets all week to celebrate.

Education Program Specialist at the Museum and Archives Jaime-Brett Sine says this week is a great time to come visit and learn more about Okotoks.

"Come and see the exhibitions, this is a great opportunity to do so, its an especially poignant time to do so, in celebration of women in this space right now," she says. "Certainly when it comes to Museum Week its all about appreciating your local heritage and your local museum"

Sine says there are tons of programs at the local museum to check out.
 
"I run a lot of programs here, so we get a huge influx of school groups, and we have seniors groups that come in. Its really a chance for everyone to educate themselves on the history of this area as interesting as it is."

In the spirit of fun facts; she says they have an artifact that's actually 57 million years old.

"The fossils we currently have up on display up in the exhibit Just Wait Five Minutes, they are very, very old fossils you can come and see which are quite interesting."
