With the October 19th Federal election just a couple weeks away, advanced polls are set to open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It's a good time to check to see if you're registered to vote and if you've received a voter card.

Spokesperson for Elections Canada Leanne Nyirfa says if you haven't received your voter card you can still vote.

"If you don't have a voter information card, its ok you can still vote" she says. "The voter information card is just that it's for your information, so if you haven't received a voter information card you can still register online to elections.ca."

Nyirfa says you'll need to bring a few pieces of ID if you plan on voting this coming weekend.

"If its getting close to polling and you wish to vote at the advanced polls you don't need to have the voter information card just take your identification with you and you can vote at the same time."

Nyirfa says all you need is two pieces of ID from a SIN number, drivers license and even a utility bill would suffice.
