Through the 2017 Municipal Election season The Eagle 100.9 and Okotoks Online will be bringing you profiles of candidates to help you make an informed decision.

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

"I've worked primarily in Calgary for over 20 years as an engineering technician, and more recently as a corporate training consultant within the oil and gas industry. Nowadays I actually work from home as an author and professional content creator for online businesses. My family and I have lived in Okotoks for over five years, but before that we lived in High River. I've also been a volunteer on many committees and charities over the past 20 years, most recently with a town committee, H.T.A. Knights, and Dewdney Theatre."

What is the main part of your platform?:

"The main part of my platform is about water, and what I'm calling sprawling development which will be the hottest topic this elections hands down. But I also want to focus on the need to expand our medical services and add a 24/7 component, we're a young town with young families and it's vital that we have 24/7 care available to us within minutes. Another passionate issue for me is providing access to post secondary education in Okotoks and the surrounding region. I'm currently on the Post Secondary Committee with the Town and we have a vision to build or lease a facility where Bow Valley College and other institutes can provide programs that will educate and enhance our community."

Why do you believe you'd make a good councillor?:

"Well I believe I'd make a good councillor because of my corporate background and working in environments that require in depth analysis, but staying within defined timelines and budgets. I've always believed in team work and developing important relationships to get projects done. Currently I work from home but I have the time to fully commit to work with council, where other candidates who work full time may find that difficult. I'm very passionate about Okotoks, and I would love to be able to show the residents of Okotoks that I can make a difference."
