Tell us about yourself:

"I have been a Town Councillor for the Town of Okotoks for the past 4 years. Currently, I am the Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee, a member on Municipal Planning Commission, a member of United Way Committee, and a member of Family & Community Support Services. I am past member of the Culture Parks and Recreation Board, Foothills Community Centre Board, Calgary Regional Partnership –Economic Prosperity, and Subdivision Development Appeal Board."

"I received my early education in Okotoks and graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree (BComm). I completed a post graduate business certificate from the University of British Columbia and P.App AACI Designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada."

"I have volunteered for multiple seasons as an Okotoks Minor Hockey & Okotoks Minor Soccer coach and I look forward to many more seasons ahead. I am a resident of Okotoks for 35 years and married to Melanie and we are raising our two children in the best community in Canada."

What is the main part of your platform?

"I Want to:

-Continue to work with senior level of government to find solutions to secure a Calgary water pipeline.
-Strive to maintain responsible taxation and deliver desired quality of life to our citizens.
-Plan for new recreational facilities in response to Town growth while maintaining current facilities.
-Create more affordable housing options.
-Continue to work with our Protective Services to ensure that Okotoks remains a safe and protected community.
-Continue to support and develop more youth and senior programs.
-Continue to support the development of a Performing Arts Centre that can accommodate all user groups.
-Continue to support small business, my wife and I owned a small business in Okotoks for 15 years.
-Continue to support Sustainable Okotoks, world-renowned for environmental responsibility."

Why do you believe you would make a good Councillor?

"I am a good listener and I care about the Town of Okotoks. I am a rational independent thinker and I make decisions on behalf of the residents of Okotoks. I am experienced and comfortable with the roles and responsibilities of being a Town Councillor. I have fostered many relationships with regional and provincial government stakeholders."
