It's a long drive into the city for many that live near Priddis, but it's a necessity now that Canada Post has shut down the community's post office.

Suzanne Oel, M.D. of Foothills councillor, says though the community is disappointed, they are making the best of the situation.

"They're missing the Post Office, but the community is working really hard on going forward with their new multi-purpose building." Oel says "They're planning on putting it just at the West end of the arena and replacing the old building there."

Canada Post has sent out an evaluator to assess if the community should get a small dealer, but Oel says that decision will be kept confidential.

"They did mention that there was a possibility of them moving out a dealer opportunity to a business in the Priddis Plaza, we haven't received any word on that."

The residents of Priddis also have rural mailboxes that have space for parcels of smaller sizes, much like the ones in Okotoks.

If mail or parcels can't fit in those boxes then residents have to go to Silverado in Calgary to post anything.
