The Town of Okotoks is once again calling for residents to submit their best shots from around town for their 10th annual Conservation Calendar for 2018.

Andrea Charlebois, Communications Specialist for the town says, the Conservation Calendar is meant to give residents some extra tips and tricks in a community oriented way.

"The intent is to provide residents with tips on conservation, as well as information on community events and programs." Charlebois says "As far as the pictures go, we're encouraging residents to send all kinds of different things from environmental shots, the Sheep River, Sheep River Valley, or wildlife.

There are some stipulations on what type of image can be sent, Charlebois has all of the info.

"They do need to be high resolution so 1 MB or higher, colour photos in a landscape format. You can download or send them from your devices, they need to be sent to us at communications@okotoks.ca and if anyone has any questions they can also send a note to that email and I would be happy to help them."

All images sent in need to be sent in JPEG format, however that shouldn't stop you from getting creative with your shots.

Charlebois asks that photographers stay away from event photo's as they can infringe on privacy laws, so the Town has to be careful.

"Event photo's are okay, but we don't have permission to publish photo's of people because of FOIP requirements.  We prefer to keep it simple, and just stick to more of the fun stuff around town, and the gorgeous environment that we live in."

If you have a great photo, send it in! Charlebois says they're accepting all skill levels from rookies to pros.
