Charges have now formally been laid against a Calgary man after the High River Integrated Traffic Unit made what they'd originally thought was a routine stop Tuesday morning.

They pulled over a vehicle about 7:00 a.m. and, after investigating, discovered the driver was in possession of a stolen vehicle and was wanted for various drug related offences.

Michael Logozzo, 41 years old, is facing 20 Criminal Code charges for possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance along with 23 provincial offence violations, relating to altering and producing invalid license plates from stolen ones.

Logozzo is to appear in Fort MacLeod provincial court December 7, 2016.
