A 46-year-old Calgary man faces charges after a series of rural break and enters.

Strathmore RCMP responded to multiple reports of break-ins and thefts from rural locations in the Strathmore area between Aug. 17 and Aug. 26.

Fuel, tools and copper wire were some of the items stolen.

on Sunday Strathmore RCMP arrested Donald Macaulay of Calgary, and he now faces four counts of break, enter and theft, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of break-in tools, theft and mischief.

RCMP say Macaulay has an extensive criminal record and was remanded into custody.

He'll be back in court Fri. Sept. 2.
