Fundraising has never been tastier.

Funds from the Okotoks Annual Chili Fest will go towards building an inclusive playground at Dr. Morris Gibson School for children of all abilities to use.

Charity Chanut, event organizer and member of the school's parent council, says the event is great at bringing people together.

"I think it's a great way for businesses to get involved in our community while also helping out a great cause," she says. "I know that not only Okotokians will join us but people from Calgary have been out and say it's a great event."

Chanut says the day will have something to offer chili lovers of all ages.

"We're going to be charging $5 a bowl and individuals have the opportunity to taste hopefully 10 or more types of chili and vote on their favourite. We'll be selling drinks and there will be door prizes, live music, and children's activities along with the Okotoks Market Square."

Those who have a great chili recipe they want to share and help raise funds for the playground with can email dmgchilicookoff@gmail.com

Chili Fest goes Sat. Aug. 29 in Olde Towne Okotoks.
