Leader of the Official Opposition Wildrose Party Brian Jean was at the Okotoks Chamber of Commerce Trade Show last night to make a presentation and answer questions from the public.

Jean spoke about many topics such as Alberta Health Services employment, the carbon tax, the Federal Liberal Government, and of course the unification talks between the Wildrose and PC Party.

Jean shares he is touring Alberta to see and understand what Albertans expect from him and the party. He says he's heard clearly from members of the party across the province, that they want an opportunity to talk about unity.

"They want to move forward with discussion,so we've put that on the table" Jean adds "We've had about 6 or 7 meetings between the PC and Wildrose, those discussions I understand are going very well. There's always going to be some challenges, but we're hoping to see some sort of agreement in a few weeks."

75% of Wildrose must vote yes to the unity agreement for anything to pass, Jean adds he will still run for Premier of Alberta regardless, if the Tories and Wildrose merge, however there are risks involved.

"Obviously I was hoping to win last time and I didn't. we got Official Opposition status, but we didn't win, although there was a good opportunity. There's always a risk to campaigns, and this isn't about the next election alone, we have to think about the next election after that, and the successive elections after those. We need decades of good governance here in Alberta."

Jean will now head to Calgary for more stops on his tour.
