The Okotoks Bisons are dealing with some grief following the death of former All-Star Defenceman Kyle Ruppe from ALS over the weekend.

Ruppe, who played 199 games with the Bisons from 2000 to 2004 was given a spot on the Bisons Wall of Fame the year he graduated from the Heritage League in 2004.

Bisons G.M. Jay McFarlane says they're still working out the details of any tribute to Ruppe.

"At this point we haven't discussed that at the board level, we do know that Kyle services will be Thursday, November 26 in Strathmore and the Community Covenant Church. And that's at 1 P.M. We're looking to attend that first and foremost and from that point on we'll see what sorts of tributes from within our organization we can offer to the family in memory of Kyle."

Ruppe was the team's top defenceman in all four seasons he played and was named to the Heritage League All-Star team every year as well.
