The provincial NDP is coming under fire from Highwood's MLA and one High River Town Councillor who sits on the DRP Advocacy Committee.

Last week both Wayne Anderson and Bruce Masterman talked about what they call the serious lack of action on around 700 outstanding DRP claims.

The pair also say no one from the government is returning their calls or e-mails.

Alberta's Municipal Affairs Minister Deron Bilous says that doesn't sound right to him.

"I'm looped in on most of the correspondence that's going on between either residents or even Bruce (Masterman) with specific cases, and they are immediately responded to, normally by Shane Shreiber, who is the Director of the AEMA (Alberta Emergency Management Agency)," he says.

"People are being responded to within 24 hours and put in contact with the appropriate contact over at DRP."

Bilous says 444 files have been "fully funded" which means they have received all the money they are going to get.

Asked if those 444 "fully funded" cases are now closed, Bilous wasn't sure, he also wasn't sure if those files could still be appealed.

He says 103 further cheques are in the process of going out and should be in the mail in the next few days.
