An action packed weekend lies ahead for Okotoks as a combination of mountain biking and racing will hit the town.

Natural CX High Cyclocross tournament will help raise funds for KidSport Okotoks.

Jason Reid, Natural CX High organizer, says he'd like to see more money raised than last year.

"In our first season we were able to donate $4,000 to KidSport so we're hoping that through various things, not just racer support but we have some draws, some raffles, a barbeque, we'll be able to raise more," he says. "Anybody that's associated with the race, whether it's a vendor or a volunteer, has donated time or money to help."

Reid says there's multiple ways people can get involved.

"The first way is either by racing... we have a bunch of novice people in the community that are excited, the second way is we definitely could use volunteer hours or people to help us out with set-up and administration of the race."

Reid adds spectators are always welcome.

Tires get spinning for Natural CX High Cyclocross at 9:30 a.m. with the event wrapping up around 4 p.m at Kinsmen Park. Registration needs to be completed by midnight on Thursday. To register, click here.

A free kids race is also scheduled for 12:30 p.m. with registration starting at 10 a.m.
