The Big Rock Singers are lending two charities a helping hand this holiday season.

The group will be donating 50% of the ticket sales from their Christmas Choir performances to the Rowan House Emergency Shelter and Western Wheel Cares 2016.

Nairn Nerland, marketing director for the Big Rock Singers, says he hopes this years event will top last years.

"Last year we raised $9,130 for the Foothills Country Hospice and Okotoks Food Bank, it was an outstanding feeling," he says. "The members of the Big Rock Singers have really taken it upon themselves and take a lot of pride in terms of giving back to help the community in these times of need so each concert we're trying to give back as much as we can."

Nerland says the concert will host a variety of musical entertainment.

"We have two guest performers with us this year, Okotoks' own country recording artist Madison Krebs who we're very fortunate to have sing at our event, and then a professional barbershop quartet out of Calgary called Quadimodo."

Tickets for adults are $30, seniors $20, and 18-years-old and under are $10.
