A popular fundraiser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation is back in Okotoks next weekend.

The Big Bike Ride will cruise through town to help raise funds and awareness for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Tamara Boivin, event coordinator, says the event is far from a typical bike ride.

"We'll have two bikes set up, 30 seats on each bike, so it's like a party as you ride," she says. "We're going to start with a little bit of Zumba and some fitness type movements."

According to Boivin $5,200 has already been raised for the event with a goal of hitting $10,000.

She says any way people are able to donate to the foundation is appreciated.

"We love supporting this charity and it really makes a big difference in our country. Any little bit helps, even just donating your time helps them. We're always looking forward to being able to support this charity."

The Big Bike Ride takes place on Sept. 18.

A barbeque courtesy of Cha Cha John's and Okotoks Sobeys will follow the ride for $15 a ticket with the proceeds going towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
