The Big Bike ride for the Heart and Stroke Foundation is ready roll through Okotoks for its third year.

A 30 seat bike will take a trip through town raising money for the foundation and research done here in Alberta.

Tamara Boivin, organizer for the Big Bike, says she's already working on filling a second bike.

"We've filled up one already," she says. "We'd love to see local celebrities, I want businesses... we're looking for donations for the Big Bike, we're looking for donations for maybe some little prizes."

Matt Patterson, representative with the foundation, says recent research in the area has been a success.

"There was a trial called the Escape Trial and it was led by Dr. Michael Hill and it's been amazing and I really encourage people to go to our website heartandstroke.ab.ca just to find out more about this amazing break through that did happen at the University of Calgary so it just goes to show how much the generous support of Albertans stays right here in Alberta."

The Big Bike Ride will include music, prizes, Zumba with Boivin, and a barbeque.
