The Liberal Government of Justin Trudeau will put out their first real budget Tuesday.

Foothills MP John Barlow says he's not expecting a "good news" budget though, with some predictions of the Liberals running up a $30-billion debt this year.

However, Barlow says he's got his fingers crossed for money for the Calgary-to-Okotoks water pipeline, which he says is desperately needed.

"Okotoks can no longer accept commercial and industrial development because they don't have the water for that. For any community to be financially viable you need to have that really solid balance between residential and commercial tax base. I think that's something Okotoks is really struggling with, so that would be a pretty big priority for this year's infrastructure budget."

Barlow says he's also worried about the prospect of a National Carbon Tax, which he says could be an even bigger burden when added to the Provincial Carbon Tax planned for the New Year.
