The Sheep River Health Trust had their fourth annual Avenue of Trees live and silent auction Saturday at the Recreation Centre.

11 out of the 39 trees went up for live auction.

Tanya Thorn with the Sheep River Health Trust says that the turn out for the event this year was great.

"The number of trees we had increased this year with 39 trees in total and the calibre of the trees increased this year as our biasness community came out to win it." Thorn says.

The live auction raised $7535.

Thorn says that the money raised by the live auction goes to support a variety of initiatives.

"We support 5 different pillars, families, seniors, children and youth, medical equipment at both Okotoks Health and Wellness and Oilfields General Hospital and community cares programs. Which is where we support other groups in the community that are healing with health and wellness."

Sheep River Health Trust hoped to raise around $30 000 from the event.

"The event includes the live and silent auction along with Pictures with Santa so at the end we will see where we are at," says Thorn.
