Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson says it has been a challenging fall session in Edmonton at the Legislature.

He says the government brought in several large bills in the last couple of days, which was quite daunting.

"The time restriction for residency for voting (was one)," said Anderson."They've taken the six month window away and there are no restrictions now. Some of the labour bills and some of the labour laws they have changed."

He added some of the consumer protection acts issues were fairly decent, but still required a little bit of attention, especially for the local veterinarians who thought they misjudged on that.

Anderson says in retrospect he carried the Highwood message strongly.

He continues to push to get the drugs that Hayley Chisholm needs to improve and prolong her life along with a few other local  issues.

"The water pipeline, the Centre Street Bridge (in High River) and there are still one or two DRP files are hangin' in out there."

Anderson says they are starting to work on a couple of issues that affect the constituency including putting together a rural crime watch task force in the spring time.

The UCP is hoping to work with the Federal Conservatives, the M.D. and the police, to form a task force.

One thing he is upset about is the carbon tax.

"Every day we keep trying to keep the government accountable. Obviously the carbon tax is going to hit everyone on January first with a 50 per cent increase on the tax."

Anderson says he has a number of constituents concerned about it.

He also added they are going to stay focused on areas that need improvement like the economy.
