According to Inspector Don Coleman, all the events happened on Monday before the police got involved.

The body was discovered by investigators only 8km East of Calgary on Thursday, July 14, in the evening."The timeline of events, through the investigation, would suggest that both events occurred prior to police involvement on Monday. We were contacted about 8:30pm when Sara was reported as overdue and we believe that this incident had concluded sometime that afternoon."

"The search area that we had identified in the early morning hours of today(July 14) and that was searched today; towards the later part of the afternoon, early evening, about quarter after seven the members that were searching that area located Taliyah's body, or what we believe to be Taliyah's body," said Coleman.

46-year-old Edward Delton Downey has been charged with two counts of first degree murder and is currently in custody.

He will remain in custody until his court appearance scheduled for July 20, 2016.
