The Foothills Advocacy In Motion Society has partnered with a three-month old recycling company to keep the wheels rolling.

Mike Bergstrom is cofounder of Range Recycling and he says they used to collect goods from the curbside and take it to Calgary for processing.

"Knowing that the AIM society was in town, we started discussions with them in April, or actually before April, just see if there was an appetite to drop off recycling there for sorting so that instead of a large company out of Calgary being paid to accept our recycling, the money goes to the Advocacy In Motion Society in High River," he says.

Lisa MacDougall with the AIM Society says they were at capacity because they don't have enough work trucks and staff to go around and collect the recycling so this keeps the clients employed.

Bergstrom says in terms of creating employment for the clients at AIM it seems to be "nothing but positive" to date.

He and his partner took over the company in April and the partnership with AIM has been going for the last month.
