A brand new family-friendly event popped up in Okotoks Saturday.

The first ever Pop Up in the Park was set-up in Cimmaron Park, to provide families with an afternoon of fun.

Allan Boss, Culture and Heritage Manager for the Town, says that the event has many great activities for people to enjoy.

"There is a stage set-up, there is a magician, bands, Goodger-Pink is putting on the play Rumpelstiltskin Revisited, and there are some food vendors", he says.

While this event was free to attend, donations were collected to help support the Okotoks Family Resource Centre.

The hope is to bring this event back again next year, to further help out the centre. However, this event may not "pop up" in the same place twice. The hope is to get other parks around town invloved in the event as well.
