The Okotoks 8BALL League ended their season last weekend at their Year End Banquet.

The banquet was not only a competition, but a fundraiser for an important organization in Okotoks, the food bank.

8BALL Executive Liason Ian Carter says the team exceeded their $1000 goal.

"We raised in the region of about $1500," he says. ""We're really pleased we couldn't have done it without the help of the local bars, its a really good acheivemnet for such a small group of people to raise so much money, and to put it all back into the town is really great."

Carter shares the amount of money raised wouldn't have been possible without all 8BALL's Sponsors.

"We got a lot of our sponsors from local bars that support us to donate vouchers, and we raffled them off on the night."

He adds the league is always looking for more players to join in the fun, and fundraising involved in the 8BALL league.

"The league is open to anybody, male or female over18. We have 12 teams currently we're always looking for more, its a really good social night."
