The sixth annual Serbian Fest took place on Saturday and Sunday.

The event allowed the local Serbian community to celebrate and show their culture and heritage.

George Ivkoxic organizer of the event says that the event allows them to share with Canada's multi cultural society.

"The fest allows us to show our culture through arts, sporting events and of course the food."

The Serbian Heritage Society hosted a musical group from Phoenix that plays traditional Serbian music.

Along with the music the Serbian dance group Frula also performed at the event.

"They will be dancing to traditional Serbian music, doing a traditional Serbian dance and they will be dressed in their colourful native costume and dress," Ivkovic says.

He added that Frula in Serbian means Flute.

During the event the church held the Heritage Pavilion, which had presentations about the Serbian culture.

"Illustrating Serbian geography, language, history as well as famous Serbians past and present, and Serbian sporting personalities."

The soccer club SD Serbia also held a small tournament during the event.
