The Trudeau government has released its 2016 budget and the Prime Minister says they want to help people and grow the economy.

The budget called "Growing The Middle Class" calls for a deficit of $29.4 billion with a deficit every year until 2021, after the next election.

The spending includes $8-billion for the middle class, including the Child Care Benefit and $11.9-billion for infrastructure.

$2.4-billion goes to expanding Employment Insurance with an extra five weeks of eligibility for most worked and up to 22 weeks for long-tenured workers in some provinces including here in Alberta.

Another $8.4 billion over five years will go to indigenous Canadians with improvements in education, water, and child and family services.
