The good, the bad and the ugly as the WPCA season got going Wednesday, May 30, in Grande Prairie.

The good is from the Sutherland clan, with Okotoks Dayton Sutherland sitting in 12th after night one, a little over a second back of his great-uncle, Kirk Sutherland, who had the fast time of the night.

Dayton's Dad Mark Sutherland is just behind in 14th spot.

The bad came for High River's Jordie Fike, who's in 30th spot after an outrider hit a barrel costing him a couple of seconds.

And the ugly was Jason Glass, who had 14 seconds in penalties after missing a barrel and added some more for wagon interference.

Evan Salmond, Vern Nolin and Obrey Motowylo round out the top four heading into night two.
